Cities Of Tomorrow

from Digital April: Volume 1 by Jesse Sprinkle

/

about

My young friend Brenda is a bright and shining soul. She was born in the Kampala, Uganda area. And to put it lightly, her living conditions were pretty terrible. Later she was adopted by a wonderful family and now lives near Seattle, Washington.

I wrote this song for her one morning when I was back home in the Northwest. That evening I performed both solo and in a reunion show with Poor Old Lu. It's quite rare that I would write a song and perform it the same night, but I figured it would be a good occasion to do just that. This is the recording I've since put together back home in New York.

Thanks Brenda for being an encouragement and a voice of reason. You are wise beyond your years. And you have a way of talking sense into me when I'm down and out and stressed (especially when I'm mental before a show). I'm happy to call you a friend.
